At Fibox we often talk about the ARCA – JIC non-metallic enclosure series. Sometimes we just call it JIC, and when we do now and then the person we are speaking with gives us an odd look.   So here is a little bit of trivia for you.

The Joint Industrial Council formed in the early 1950s.  It was established by a committee of automobile manufacturers, users from other industries and machine tool builders. Their purpose was to create a uniform standard to ensure consistent quality of control systems used by the electronic, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic industries.

The (JIC) enclosure sizes are utilized to this day and easily recognized in the popular Fibox ARCA- JIC enclosure series.
